How long does the IRS take to process an ITIN Application?

Currently, the processing time is about 12 to 14 weeks.  Allow longer if you apply during peak processing periods (January 15 through April 30). If we haven’t received your ITIN or correspondence after 12 weeks, we call the ITIN Hotline for Certifying Acceptance Agents.
